Rat Control

The Problem

Rats
  • Sighting: Although Rats are generally active at dawn and dusk, you may see them in the day if they have been disturbed. It may also mean that there are a large number that they are forced to come out.
  • Rat Droppings: These are generally larger than that of a mouse. Our staff will readily identify the pest from the droppings found.
  • Grease Marks: The greasy fur of a rat may leave marks if they continually use a run. This is more easy to see when an infestation is established.
  • Gnawing Marks: As Rats teeth continually grow - they are by nature continually needing to gnaw hard objects to control their teeth. As they will chew almost anything we often see signs around the property with the problem.

Control and Eradication

Rat Hole

The rat's ability to survive on a wide variety of food stuffs, coupled with its ability to reproduce quickly are the key to this animal success. It is also the key to the rat's effective control.

Rats reproduce quickly so it is usual to find a family nesting in close proximity to the sighting.

Our pest control experts will effectively eliminate the rodents in your premise.

Rat Control inside premises

Rat Control

The presence of rats inside your home or business can be particularly alarming to people, many of whom feel that they have somehow contributed to the problem.

In the vast majority of cases nothing could be further from the truth. It is far more likely that your rat problem is the result of a minor structural fault, as rats have the ability to enter premises through surprisingly small gaps.

Rat Control outside premises.

Rat hole

Rats are predominantly nocturnal animals becoming active at dusk. As such many people will be totally unaware of the rat's presence around premises, during the hours of darkness. In the event that rat activity is observed during daylight hours there is normally a reason.

This could be that an established rat population has begun to breed and has outgrown the readily available food source. It could also be that their established food source has been removed or restricted. It could equally be that the rats have been displaced from their normal harbourage points and are looking for a new place to take up residence.

In any event it is advisable that action be undertaken to prevent a population becoming established around your premises.

Once again we will always undertake a detailed survey and advice on our findings at the outset of any treatment.

Rat Control around Farms, Equestrian Centres, Animal Housing or Poultry Houses.

Due to the very nature of these types of establishments, it may not be possible to fully restrict all food sources which would contribute to or sustain a rat population. This could render certain types of rat treatment less effective than would otherwise be the case.

We have members of staff who are experienced in dealing with these types of premises and can utilise several different methods of control to significantly reduce rat populations in and around these premises.
